If you upload a photograph or illustration to Picster, you can sell the same file on your own site, on other marketplaces, or directly to clients. We will never ask you to take it down elsewhere or lock it to us. That is a deliberate policy, and it is worth explaining why.
Your work is yours, not ours
Exclusivity arrangements benefit a platform more than they benefit an artist. They reduce your options and create dependency on a single revenue stream. We are a small team running a focused marketplace, not a company with the resources to guarantee you enough sales to justify that trade-off. Requiring exclusivity would be an overreach given what we actually offer.
What we do offer is straightforward: a 50 percent commission on every sale, credited to your in-app wallet. One credit costs a buyer €0.15, and all other currency prices — Australian dollars, for example — are converted from that Euro base at the live exchange rate, so there is no guesswork about what a credit is worth. When you want your earnings, you request a payout directly from the wallet inside the app. No waiting for a monthly cycle to close, no minimum threshold games.
How the marketplace actually works
Buyers purchase credits in one-time top-ups. There is no subscription on their side, which means they are spending real money they chose to load, not a recurring charge they forgot about. That tends to attract buyers who are genuinely looking for something rather than browsers grazing through an unlimited plan.
On the discovery side, we run a human-curated featured queue. Editors review submissions and decide what goes into the featured slots. It is slower than an algorithm, and it means not every upload gets featured, but it also means the work that surfaces there was chosen deliberately rather than ranked by engagement metrics.
What non-exclusivity means in practice
If you are already on other platforms, you do not have to choose. Add Picster as an additional channel and see whether the buyer mix here suits your work. A few things worth knowing:
- Pricing on Picster is set in credits derived from euros, so your work will appear at a price point consistent with that structure regardless of where you are based.
- Being featured is separate from being listed — upload quality work, keep your portfolio tidy, and you can submit for curation consideration.
- Payouts go through the wallet you manage in-app, so you control the timing.
We are not trying to be your only outlet. We are trying to be a good one. If the terms make sense for your work, list it here alongside wherever else you sell. If a sale happens, you get half the revenue, no strings attached to what you do with the file next.
