You have bought a file. Credits left your wallet, a licence attached to your account, and a download started. Here is what that means in practice — and what happens if you need the file again later.
The licence you receive
Every purchase on Picster gives you a permanent, non-exclusive licence to use that specific file for the purpose stated on the listing — typically personal or commercial use, depending on what the artist has set. The licence is tied to your account, not to a single device or download session. You are not buying the copyright. The artist keeps that, and they receive exactly 50 % of whatever you paid, calculated in euros at the moment of purchase. One credit costs €0.15; if you are paying in Australian dollars or another currency, the price converts from euros at the live rate on the day you top up.
Re-downloading a file you have already paid for
This is the question we hear most often. The short answer: yes, you can re-download. Go to your purchase history, find the order, and download again at no extra cost. There is no expiry on this. If you lose a file two years from now, the download is still there.
A few things worth knowing:
- If an artist removes or significantly updates a file after your purchase, we keep the version you paid for available to you.
- Re-downloads do not deduct credits. You are downloading something you already own a licence for.
- There is no cap on how many times you can re-download a file you have bought.
How credits and top-ups fit into this
Picster runs on one-time credit top-ups. There is no subscription, no renewal, and no credits that expire on a billing cycle. You add credits when you need them. Because the base currency is the euro and one credit equals €0.15, the credit cost of any file is straightforward to work out — a file priced at €3.00 costs 20 credits regardless of where you are in the world. Currency conversion happens at top-up, not at checkout, so the credit amount in your wallet is always a fixed number.
For artists, the wallet works the other way: earnings accumulate there and you request a payout directly from inside the app. There is no minimum waiting period beyond standard processing time, and the 50 % commission rate does not change based on your sales volume or how long you have been on the platform.
What the featured queue has to do with any of this
Not much, directly — but it is worth mentioning because buyers sometimes ask why certain files appear on the front page. Featured spots are chosen by a human editorial team, not by an algorithm or by paid promotion. A file in the featured queue is there because someone on the team thought it was worth highlighting. It does not affect pricing, licence terms, or download mechanics. A featured file costs the same credits as any other file at the same price point, and re-download works identically.
The practical upshot: when you buy on Picster, you are making a one-time transaction with a clear licence, a stored download history, and no ongoing commitment. That is how we intend it to work.
