Thunderhead Poured Into a Thimble

I found a brass thimble at a flea market and kept thinking about how much sky a small thing could hold. Here a full cumulonimbus — the kind that swallows counties — funnels down into the needle-pocked rim, the storm still churning inside, lightning threading the walls of something you could lose in a coat pocket. Scale isn't about size. It's about what a thing is asked to contain.
