The Winding of the Wisteria

I found this vine pressed against an old clock face in my grandmother's shed — the way it had grown into the gear teeth felt less like accident and more like intention. Here, I've let the two complete each other: copper escapements caught mid-tick, wisteria tendrils threaded through as though the flower always knew the mechanism needed something soft to keep it honest. Everything is running on time, and everything is in bloom.
