The Ink Dried Before Anyone Came

I found the date-stamp still set to a Thursday in March, years out. The pad beneath it had bled into the blotter in concentric rings, like something trying to leave a mark even after the hand withdrew. I made this contact print from a single large-format negative, letting the cyanotype develop slowly in diffuse window light so the iron blue would carry that particular coldness of rooms that stopped being used mid-sentence.
