Switchboard Room, Bearing East

The terminal patch bay of a decommissioned coastal intercept station, photographed at the hour when raking winter light enters the one unboarded window and catches the oxidised brass of several hundred jack sockets in sequence. I printed this on a double-coated cyanotype ground, then selectively reduced the highlights with a weak potassium ferricyanide solution to pull the stencilled grid numbers back from the blue. The room still smells of Bakelite and damp felt.
