Slipway Chain, Thorshavn Ebb

I found this landing-stage chain at first light on a falling tide, each link furred with barnacles and streaked with rust bloom where the iron had started to give itself back to the water. The concrete apron behind it was still running with retreating sea, that dark wet grey I spend half my life chasing. Shot on 4x5, rated low to hold the shadow detail in the chain's inner faces.
