Shears Opening on Hot Color

I caught this in the fraction of a second the jacks shears split apart across the neck of a still-glowing vessel — the steel blades framing that deep tangerine throat before it dropped away. The workshop tools are usually invisible in the final object, so I've been trying to make them the whole subject: the grip, the leverage, the thermal stain on old iron meeting new heat. This one is about separation, the cut that defines the mouth before the glass even knows it's finished.
