Porpita, Blue Button Adrift

I found a colony of Porpita porpita washed into a tide pool at low water — that electric cobalt disc, smaller than a coin, surrounded by its fringe of hydroids catching what little light came through the overcast. I wanted to compress the whole ocean into those few centimetres of creature. Shot close, almost flat, the water surface above it doing all the work the sky refuses to.
