Overflow Stain, Almería Rooftop, July

I'd been up there three mornings before the condensation finally pooled enough to run the old rust channel properly — that orange seam travelling from the overflow collar all the way down to the parapet edge, widening as it goes, like a river delta printed on white render. The tank itself is almost out of frame; what I wanted was the wall as document, the years of mineral record. Shot on 4×5 sheet film, silver gelatin contact print.
