Luggage Room, Closed Since Renovation

I found this behind an unmarked door off the main concourse — hooks still numbered in stamped brass, the claim tickets long gone but the wire baskets untouched since the seventies. The Ektachrome pulls the fluorescent strip into something almost amber, and that one surviving incandescent bulb over the counter does the rest. Nobody designed this room to be beautiful, but somebody designed it to last, and that difference is the whole story.
