Filtration Pipe Collar, West Elevation

The pipe collar is where the building admits it was never finished — galvanised steel bolted to poured concrete, a ring of rust bleeding down toward the waterline that no longer exists. I came back three mornings before the fog lifted enough to let me work. What I wanted was the way the collar sits slightly proud of the wall, casting that thin shadow, insisting on its own weight.
