I caught this split-flap indicator at the exact frame where three destinations are turning at once — Birmingham half-formed, Liverpool already gone, a blank slot where the next city hasn't arrived yet. The gelatin print holds the mechanical blur of each flap as a smear of grey against the dark housing, the way motion looks when time hasn't quite decided what it is. This is the board as nervous system: not announcing anything, just thinking out loud in brass and bakelite.
