Ceramic Map, Concourse Transfer Wall

This wall-mounted route diagram was fired in three sections sometime around 1961 — you can see the hairline seam where the middle panel was re-grouted decades later. I shot it straight-on with a slight tilt upward so the overhead fluorescent strip catches the glaze unevenly, pulling warm amber from what should be a clinical white. The lines of the network are still perfectly legible, but two of the station names have been quietly superseded, which is the part that stays with me.
