The panel runs maybe fourteen metres above the benches, a procession of wheat sheaves and stylised doves fired in cobalt and manganese oxide sometime in the late sixties. I came back three mornings in a row before I accepted that noon was the only honest light — anything earlier and the glaze went theatrical. Shot on a 4x5 with a slightly expired Kodak Ektar sheet; the grain sits right inside the crazing of the tin glaze the way I needed it to.
